Artman English Party: Summer Pengaleng

ARTMAN SUMMER PENGALENG

A night of truly peng entertainment! Artman English worked with three evening classes (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) at Lost Theatre, from April to the end of June, culminating in the groups coming together as one ensemble to perform Edward Gorey’s The Gashlycrumb Tinies. That’s 24 students in one show!

The piece was also brilliantly accompanied live by the musicians Antonio Torrisi and Ross Connell who, working true to Artman’s creative ethos, put together their performance in record short time! Amazing work all round with fabulous results.

The regular Artman family performed for the rest of the night, with The Moonshark, Ross Connell, Henry AK Smith and The Slurps all on rousing form.

Summer Pengaleng was Artman’s last party at The Grosvenor, our favourite South London venue, as John and Louise are leaving and taking all of their gig equipment with them.  Good luck to them and Bison, the resident sound engineer. We will miss the Grosvenor and its creative ethos enormously.

Here’s to the future and adventures in new venues!
